Here's a Gallup poll that might shed some light. One interesting response is down at the bottom:
46. How likely do you think it is that a terrorist attack of some sort will occur at the Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece this month -- very likely, somewhat likely, somewhat unlikely, or very unlikely? Very likely (2004) : 6% - Athens, Greece Very likely (2002) : 11% - Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Very likely (1996) : 13% - Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Since the end of the Cold War and the proliferation of dumb sports becoming Olympic certified, I've lost interest in them.
![]() If there's a good human interest story I might watch. |

Personally, I think most sports where marks are given on judgement calls (synch swimming, ice dancing in the winter olympics, stuff like that) shouldn't be in the games, but I suppose their fans would argue. |

Thought I'd follow them more, I like seeing lesser viewed sports every few years but:
Katie Couric needs to be Pepped. Announcers in almost every sport are really annoying in some way. All of the focus on really stooopid sports. Tired of every sport having a "dream team." --next commentator that uses that phrase should have there mouth washed out with soap. Coverage irritates me so much, that I'm having trouble watching. Think that they should go back to only sports in the olympics before say 1968. Return to the games not the stooopid shiite. Jurgen

Fucking-A Bob Costas and the rest of the NBC commentators. Why don't you guys move to China, that way you can cheerlead full time for those competing with us.
Is it too much to ask that once every 4 years we actually take pride in American Olympic prowess. These commentators are pissing me off. Specifically, I'm referring to the Men's Floor exercises that are on right now. Damn, I should turn down the volume on these fucks.
