You can either zap or do it like a roll up. The zap is an advanced kind double blip.
I have been messing with a ground splatter on it lately with mediocre, but promising results.

I'll get a video the next time I screw around with it and see if I can do it a few different ways (and then lineaway can help me out with some tips)

The size of that log I would place a small kicker and splatter, but yes a double blip, or jap zap would work as well.

This is unbelievable to me. I could see splattering it, but anything else is baffling. Its as high as the KTM seat! I know I know its all technique but still, baffling. I'm looking forward to the day I can clear obstacles a third this size with no problem. Just ordered the Ryan Young training dvd so we'll see how it goes.

Here is how I am trying to get up to the back of the skidplate from the back tire (without zapping).

I have found it to work better as the skid plate lets you scrub some speed and set it down better. It's afine line between going too far and coming up short. Also, when I was doing any kind of roll up (or letting the front drive into the log) the front was coming up too high and then it's a looong way for it to come back down!
The big dogs just go to the rear tire and then hop down. That aint happening around here!!

I remodeled the course and moved most of it out of the back corner today and expanded the railroad tie jungle gym.

You wanna see sick?

I have ridden the tall end of this thing before somewhat smooth, but this wasn't one of those times!

It's a little tricky!

This is a great thread! Seeing regular people do things I could imagine myself doing, is way better PR for trials than watching someone hit a 6 ft vertical wall. Still 2 or 3 more months of winter here, but lot's of inspiration for my backyard.

A good friend will take you trail riding, an ADV friend will double back and say, "how did you get down there?"
