One more video, for the Cheyenne. I know I kind of run on a bit about these places and events, I don't mean to to run rough shod over this Great Thread of Buffalo Bills! I really miss Kansas, and this is sort of a place I can visit, and its like home. Some of the best photos I have ever seen of the prairies and Great Plains of this country are in this thread. Thanks everyone for sharing your photos, hope to see many more in 2013. Sod. |

Well The Great Plains in Australia anyway.
Circa 1980 - Another jaunt across Australia. A 155w high beam + 2 x 100w Cibie Oscar long range driving lights would make it daylight for a half mile or more down the road. It really helped when night cruising, at 160+kph (100+mph) speeds in the outback. The early RS fairing is without a doubt the best fairing for touring ever engineered. Had the Beemer for 20 years and put 110,000 miles on it. Sold her when I moved to the USA in 1998. If not for the move I would probably still have her.

The M is silent...

![]() This picture does not due the scene justice. It was 6 in the morning. I was 50 miles outside Omaha Nebraska on my way back to PA. It was the last week in February on a bike that used more oil then gas. The weight of the 1700 mile trip I was about to do hit me hard on this long lonely road. I had 2 days to get home, it was 20 degrees and suddenly the sky went black. You can barely see the black dots. But from horizon to horizon was millions of black birds. All flying at the same altitude. They swirled like oil on water. The patterns on the sky were just fantastic. I have never seen anything like it.....
