Klay... Niiice tracks in a lunar setting.

There are some modest plains or "parks" in Colorado's high country, including North Park, Middle Park, and South Park. Then there is the San Luis Valley, the world's largest alpine valley. South Park contains 1,000 square miles, at almost 10,000 feet elev.

From last week's ride... a slice of South Park. Not far from timberline here. Pulled over just north of Hartsel where temps were 18f. Yee Ha!...

But 15 miles later temps were back in the 40's and the road started to entertain. That's Currant Creek pass on the high horizon...

And vid over the passes into the park...

Great Stuff Sfarson.........I've been spending some time up in North Park while working on a timelapse photography project, not many folks up there and lots of places to ride..

first, please forgive my horrible photography skills.

we passed through nebraska on 71 in late august as we made our way from the black hills to the rocky mountains.

with so little traffic we parked right on the highway and horsed around for awile and watched the storms in the distance.

touching, right?

this fella is from the east coast and had never experienced the great plains, he was blown away. it was fun to watch him soak it all in.
