Ice Cream...hell no, I want a flatiron steak, medium with a loaded baked potato on the side with fresh baked bread and a salad with Dorothy Lynch.

Well at least all but one comes from the Great Plains.

Oh guaranteed it's not just the camera. I have another buddy like that. He and I could be standing 1 foot apart with identical cameras and his pics will ALWAYS look much better than mine. He took classes but it's more than that. Some people just have that "eye" for composition, lighting, etc. I'm not one of them no matter how much I would like to be.

Flat tire way western Kansas. This first of FIVE flat tires on this TAT trip. Ended up yanking the 2nd backup tube out and running tubeless making it MUCH easier to plug. (I dont run tubes anymore on the back tire)

Grainbelt - thanks for sharing what the northern part of this region has to offer. really like the first river/sandbar shot - beautiful contrast.

This evening - the setting sun provided some nice light to play with.

It looks too wet for the badlands. Something further east, like the Missouri River valley?

Is there a badlands type region in North Dakota? I've been wanting to get up around the Roosevelt National Park area and see what's around am curious of other regions that interesting...

Yes, The Little Missouri River valley. Marmarth, North Dakota is in the valley, and it gets drier and more rugged as you go north from there. The Theodore Roosevelt Park is in the badlands. These pictures are from north of the park.
