thanks for the great pictures. This past spring I did a big loop out west but came back through parts of the great plains and that was one of the very pleasant surprises I encountered. There was a beauty and a peacefulness, a sweetness and a goodness that was totally unexpected.

I would like to take a couple of weeks or so and just wander around Kansas and Nebraska and probably will some day; especially if I can talk my best bud to ride with me. Some pics.

Yup. Didn't know there were other former westerners on ADV. How long you been gone from up there? I left about 20 years ago, but I'm lucky that my job takes me there quite a bit. Most beautiful part of the state....but I might be biased.

All these old, abandoned homes and farms acccross America leave me with a sad, melancholy sort of feeling....They are all that is left of somebody's dreams. Dreams of a a better life, dreams of making it on your own. In particular, along the back roads, the abandoned businesses, restaurants, gas stations. Someone once thought they'd found the answer, and probably invested thier life savings. Only to end up with, what?

Every derilict, delapidated, collapsing old structure was someones pride and joy. The symbol of their dreams, their dreams........... their dreams..............dreams.........dreams
