I looked on the satellite image yesterday and couldn't pinpoint where those formations were at - there were more there I didn't take pictures of...in fact, they spot the landscape around that lake. The morning and evening light does some neat stuff to the stone colors. It was mid day when I shot that so the colors are flat. This was from earlier in the morning near our campsite at the lake:




I haven't got my books yet, figured it was still too early for the official release. looking forward to it for sure though.

You're not taking that new camera outside in the dirt are you?....

Nice shot, the light on that still image almost looks like it has movement..."maybe i've had to much caffeine"....

Despite the 1200 shutter clicks in a week, I feel like I've barely had a chance to take it out.

Shouldn't you be....uh...not within internet access range, or something?

Nope, no photoshop, in fact, cropped very little. I did tweak it in Lightroom though.

He goes on to tell me that our paths may never cross again but they might and he will recognize me by "that red bike" and he will tell me hello again and then he starts walking into the gas station. This guy was a character and I ask if I can take his picture. he saunters over.
Well, who do you want to take a picture of, because there are eleven people inside of me and again he goes on about the nature of self, the condition of man. I choose "Buck" though he said that Ethel and rachel were both within him and if I chose over again, I think I would choose Ethel. Not Rachel. Ethel.

After I took his picture and showed him the result he again asked my name, it was still John, and he told me his name was also John. I suppose that is true because I didn't feel any energy leave me as if he was sucking up my spirit, though he may claim that I am now part of the menagerie that is Buck."

Interesting backstory. I loved this picture the moment I saw it. I admit to wondering about Photoshop. Glad you cleared this up.

Early October in the Sandhills of Central Nebraska...

the weather is starting to get pretty cool in the mornings (30s-40s)
but still warming during the day..

Perfect for riding the back roads...





This region, because of its many lakes and remote location is a popular spot for Trumpeter Swans...



Its also the land of the Sharptail Grouse and the Prairie Chicken



A fact that my 14month old friend, "Buffalo Roy" is finding out.




We've also been seeing some suspicious looking felines out here too...

Can anybody say? "Hitler"....

Bill, have you done much exploring in TR National Park? I know Klay has passed on some information...just curious if there other stuff in the area to check out.

TR National Park was an area that didn't get as much time as it deserved...I'd say you'd do well checking it out....Just guessing, but mid June might be excellent...
