This a town of around 50 people. What makes it unique is that the fence posts leading up to the town are covered with the boots of cowboys. Some of these boots have been hanging there for decades. I'm going back in a couple of weeks. Loved your photos!

I have always enjoyed my trips through Kansas and Nebraska always being awed by the vastness of the plains.
I have never understood some of the negative attitudes of traveling through them.
It must have been one helluva sight to crest one of those gentle rises on the plains and have thousands of buffalo come into view.

Thanks

Thumb Prairie Potholes..............Tuttle North Dakota.......

Great Plains Documentary

Spent the week traveling with the film crew making the PBS Documentary Film about Mike Forsberg and the making of his "Great Plains" Book.

"Prairie Smoke"

The region known as the "Duck Factory" because of its role as the largest waterfowl and shorebird production area in the Lower 48, is an ocean of wild flowers this time of year..

Its also teaming with wildlife and few humans.

Sunrise on one of the abundant lakes

One of the more unique residents, the Western Grebe is known for its courtship display, or Rushing Dance.

Sunset with the Shoveler

Great place to spend time, even greater place to ride..
