My tripods were out in my suburban......So, The camera was sitting on my favorite chair, facing the sky...I was standing next to it trying to coordinate shutter activation with electron transfer.....Should've been doing video so we could listen to the boooom.......

Had to stop in for my "GREAT PLAINS" fix. You guys don't disappoint a dedicated viewer. While I could never leave my beautiful Alaska scenery permanently, these photos sure put me in the mood for traveling those plains for a few weeks, seeing in person, all the places your photos take me.
Keep up the good work.

It's not a picture rather a photo essay using a video format. The photo essay is about 4 minutes long of my ride from Malta to Plentywood (summer 2008).

Good Stuff,
Stayed in the Maltana Motel a couple times, Plus ate at the Mint Bar... Malta border crossing into Canada worked well a couple years ago on the way north...One of the Canadian Border Agents was an Inmate... Quote:

Good to know information regarding the border crossing. Next time I pass that way I want to travel even farther north about 5-10 miles from the northern border on the gravel county roads. The challenge is finding camping spots-much of the land east of the Rockys is private and the owner don't take kindly to trespass. But most small towns will find a place for you to set up tents. Also fuel is a bit challenging to find up there too-I don't always want to head south to US 2 for fuel. Towns like Sarles may or may not have fuel, etc. Unfortunately many of the small towns here are turning into ghost towns right before our eyes. Thanks MkD

Val Marie Saskatchewan...........
Grasslands Provencial Park just north of the border, and located on the East edge of Val Marie is a must see place..Camping is available in town or just South a couple miles..
Can't remember the name of the campground south of town, but, you can't miss it if you arrive from the south...Very nice..We intended to camp there for a week, ended up renting one of their Large TeePees with the wooden floor..Twenty bucks a night and very nice... ![]() ![]() ![]()
