Police believe a motorcyclist might have died after striking a rock deliberately left in the road.

2nd Report...

Round 10 Cadwell Park Sept 2012

The last meeting of the season was Cadwell, there's always a good turnout for this meeting, lots of entries, big grids and plenty of spectators. We took advantage of a track day that was being run for classic bikes on the Friday, the weather was on and off, bit of rain in the morning and very cold, even when the sun came out.

#66 RON MAUL BMW R75/5 980cc 1971 VMCC CADWELL PARK

As far as I can work out, Ron Maul was beaten by 100th of a second into 3rd in race 37 @ http://www.theresults.co.uk/theresul.../VMCC_0929.pdf, thereby losing the championship? Info is scarce...

Ah, I thought that's what you were aiming at & can imagine how it might seem that way, but my guess is that the pic was taken at a part of Cadwell Park called the Mountain, the extreme topography of which can make even the most unlikely machines lift a front wheel -

http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=142550

It's a fast flip flop chicane, the 2nd part of which crests sharply on the way out, and is maybe a little like going up The Corkscrew at Lagauna Seca? -

Zoom version @ http://www.clubmsv.com/media/19102/m...bottom%202.jpg

I'm guessing the K100 pic was taken from the marshals post mid right in the pic of the exit below?

http://book.easytrack.co.uk/car-trac...012-1200-p.asp

Compared to, say something like a superbike, the K100 in the original pic is barely leaving the ground

My bandwidth throttle doesn't allow me to view the following to see if it illustrates my point, but I'm guessing it might give you an idea of the climb to the crest, and just how fast you're going thru/ough the corners and over it...

As Gaius Caligula was wont to say 'By Jove, which is almost to say by myself, I think you've got it"

Never tried a 1k or above though I'd fancy a run on that racing K100 shown before, which I think is dyno'd just round the corner from here. I liked the comparative nimbleness of the ratted 75, which is still in the state shown below, only without the tail tank piece, which got lost somewhere in the move.

I'm in need of a radiator, generator & clutch pressure & friction plates + diaphragm spring. Rear light, tire/yres, battery etc. So as I've said before, if anyone wants to adopt me, bequeath me or even just take me on as a tax loss I could do with the support...

I still quite like this one -
