Wow, that sucks you had the problems that you did. I was on the edge of my seat to find out what happened at the border on the insurance issue...

Not surprised you had some a great time in Brazil. I know a few of 'em up here and they are all damn fine and fun people. They truly work hard and play even harder. GREAT attitude on 'em.

Can't wait go down and see 'em in their natural habitat!

Problems? Not really, just minor hassles that are part of any trip. Sometimes you just have to improvise and figure stuff out as you go. Actually, thats what I do most of the time as I'm not a big planner.

Yeah man, the Brazilians treated me like a brother, great people.

Free food.

Vincent, sorry that my wife (Celly) and myself aren’t in Costa Rica right now, I know she’d love to cook you some Throttlemeister Freedom Toast. Hell she’ll cook for anybody but me. Hope that you enjoy your trip back through Central America.

If you’re a real adventurist you’ll come through Alabama on your way back to California. I looked at the map and it’s a straight line from Panama and Costa Rica to Alabama. I’m sure you have the same maps I do.

Freedom Toast awaits you.

One of the beautiful things about riding solo is the quality of the social experience.

Damn, might be worth going to Alabama to see about this Freedom Toast. I might have to ask John about that tomorrow.

Thanks amigo!

you best be back south by July or the northern unstate bird will have you sucked dry.

Since i now have the summer off, or a few years, let me know when you are planning on coming through BC and i will take you through the roads less travelled and you will get to see the real country and maybe share a few pints, or did you give up drinking after your Brazil experiences.

Sounds good Randall. It will have to be a ride for the big twins though because the 990 is going to live up north. May have to buy a Super Enduro for SoCal. I'll give you a shout this summer when I'm headed up to Alaska.

I miss the Caipirinhas in Brazil.

Nice update from FG Vinnie

Same experience here with bringing the bike into Europe with US plates, didn't have to process through any kind of temporary importation. They didnt know what I was asking for at the port gate and just let me through

I think they might be more snotty in Cayenne than here in Paris. My French hasn't come on strong yet, so when I start speaking something, there's a lot of Spanish words and some people just switch to Spanish right away or give up and speak English But yeah, they're not patient here like people are in LatAm. When I ask the Parisennes that if they speak slowly, I can understand more (which always works in LatAm), they continue rattling off at high speed

Hi!

Thanks for the great RR! I just bought a 07 990ADV like yours. Is that a KTM brand Touring Windshield on your bike? How do do you like it? Do you look over the windshield or through it? Wind turbulence on my stock shield is terrible!
