New tag...

I may be breaking some rules so if anybody objects, speak up and I'll find another tag, but...here it is.

WARNING! Depending on what side you come in from you WILL PASS A FEW NO TRESSPASSING SIGNS to get here. It's a dual sport tag, but really any bike can get to it.

For all you hill climb specialists out there...pretty much verticle at the top.

You can enter off Leeds Markeeta rd (river rd), or Henry Ellen Rd. It will be obvious from Google Earth or Google Maps.

No hill top photo

Man I was hoping somebody would post a pic from the top of the hill. The back side was not as long but still pretty steep.

I'm on a cross country trip right now looking to crash in either Montgomery and Birmingham. Anyone have some tent space or a place I could crash? No luck with the tent space thread so far. Much Thanks!

Heck yeah! Let me know when you get down this way. There are plenty of hillclimbs in that area I'd like to see the KLR on!

New tag is up. Was going to do fire tower road but ended up in Marvel. This is where the "old slab" was before it was removed from the Cahaba. I recommend coming into Marvel from 22. Then take a right on 10. Be careful once your on hwy 10 around the Tacoa mine and truck entrances. Loose road surface around those sharp curves.

This pic should be taken just after you see a sign on your right stating this is the site of the old slab. This is not a bend in the road as the panoramic makes it look that way...

Bonus points for replicating this shot. As you dismount your steed to take the tag shot you should see a little trail leading down on some nice boulders scattered along the bank. Walk out on the boulders over the water to grab the shot. If you look close enough on the far right you'll see the remaining old pylons in the Cahaba...

Have fun.

Hello From A C'ville, VA ADV'r

Hey There,
I'm down here from C'ville, VA, working horses for a gal in Eldridge. I must say you folks have some great dirt roads down here. Wishing I had brought my KTM. Rode through some of the state forest land south of Eldridge off of hwy 13. Looking forward to coming back down and bringing my 950 next time. If any of you know any Sanfords in Greene county, tell 'em I said hey. Some family settled there on the Tombigbee back in the early 1800's. I'd love to go find the old home place next time I down here.
