We are thinking we want to go back early next year.
TheMule......how early do you think we could reasonably get back there after the worst of the snow and mud has gone? April? We want to camp a little further down the road and thus have a bit shorter drive to some of those "way down there" places we couldn't quite make this trip. And we want to make Karen happy so she'll come visit us again. Maybe she'll even drag you along? Or maybe you will be off work fora few days and and join us!

So I keep looking at the map and plotting routes......
.....and I think if we made basecamp near Diamond Butte, even bikes like our 650s could make runs to Toroweep, Whitmore, Kelly Point and Twin Point with little more than a one-gallon gas can strapped on the back.
The problem is we would be nowhere near town, so we'd need to pack a LOT of fuel out there or make a few trips into town. And it's probably WAY too far out there to even consider taking a land yacht.

This looks like a fantastic area to ride. Great report and pics. We are thinking of going thru this area late next April.
Can you buy gas at Bar 10? |
