Hey, I think I have one of those SE things in deep dark corner of my garage. I wonder I still have the keys to it?

Nice work! I read the results after the race, stoked for you. I was curious when you'd make it back. Sore at all?

Jeezus! Enough with the gore, already! You couldn't block out the disgusting part of that picture- you know- between the ball cap and the neck brace?

Lemme know- I'm eager to hear about the race and events leading up thereto.

Not realy, I was only on the bike for 100 miles at a time. I flew to San Antonio the day after the Awards Ceremony and got back this weekend. Now I'm ready for some Calico/Rough Canyon action!

So, on Sunday I took off from 27 1/2 rd across the North Desert OHV area towards Fruita, taking the powerline trail, which is supposed to be singletrack, but is far from it. Then, I headed down 16 rd and took Highway 6 to Rabbit Valley.
The Rim trail, or Trail #8 was a Ton of Fun-

With a cool mixture of sand and hills, it's signature features are it's switchback ledges-

I've seen plenty of ledges, and switchbacks, but never in such a compact combination. What a hoot!
After taking the mostly sidehill Trail #3 back to the parking area, I headed down Trail #2 towards the coolest trail of the day- The Western Rim trail-

Just a beautiful, fun ride. Like a mini- White Rim Trail-

After heading back through Loma for gas, I took 16 rd back up into the North Desert, and found some more epic desert singeltrack as I worked my way back to 27 1/2 rd and home.

I was amazed that, given the relatively cool temps on Sunday, I never saw another rider after I cleared the parking area in the AM.
There were plenty of hillbillys out with their guns, though!
A 150 mile epic day in the desert!

I heard from HiluxCrux, so if anyone else has weekdays open for riding, let me know!

Hey guys/gals,

Just incase any of y'all are going to be "out and about" on Sunday, July 1st @ 3:00, a couple of us are meeting in New Castle. We are going to meet at the White River Bar and Grill Map Link. I know it's kind of a hike from GJ, but thought I would extend the invite to you all. We aren't very good looking, and we have bad jokes, but stop by anyway.

Here's the link to our thread.

Cross-Country- I'll look forward to a ride soon.

Greg- Can't wait to see the 690! I thought about one of those, but ended up with a 950.
I plan on being here until the end of the month.

BTW- I have GOT to stop riding that thing out past Glade Park!
I took an alternate route down into Granite Creek today, thinking I could wind my way over Pinyon Mesa back up to Glade park for a nice loop that avoids Sheep Creek rd.
Instead, I ran into a couple of cowboys who were running 300 head of cattle up the trail, so I headed back up this-

I kept up a good head of steam, and made it ALMOST to the top, but the front end caught a rock just wrong and sent the front wheel out into space-

After wrestling the 950 back up, I settled for going all the way through and up out of Granite Creek, and ended up going down Sheep Creek rd----Again!
Actually, I'm just happy I didn't have to walk out, and hire a helicopter to get the bike out.
No more 950 in the rocks for me.

Ron, you've been doing some really good rides. We were out at Westwater on Sunday. Truely a fantastic day for the des.

Man, that's a tough place to lose it. And this isn't even the hard part yet.
