I'd like to get out there and finish that single track that starts at the UT/CO state line. Maybe this Fall some time. Got a souped up DRZ and a Westfalia for camping. Could set up right there by the state line marker. The one that Kerouac wrote about in On the Road. Regrettably Colorado Uli can vouch for my riding skills.

Not sure if it's the one you're talking about, but I've been exploring the Thompson trail a little at a time and would like to ride it with you when the time comes.

I'm going to try to go up in the North Uncompahgre again Friday and would welcome company. On my last effort, I learned which way not to ride one of the trails and lost my Garmin 60Cx. Not the best day. This Friday will be better!

It's been way too long since I've been out either a bike, thinking that I will get out for some riding this weekend on the WR450.

I will probably stay local, ride the Fruita North Desert singletrack, then head up 16 Road into the Bookcliffs, over to the top of 21 Road and ride down it. Should be decent weather on Sunday... great riding, 21 Road is nothing but rocks, so come prepared.

Anyone want to join me? Say 10 AM up 21 Road by the refinery?

Hey Uli!!

Good to hear about the smaller bike, we'll have to get out soon. No worries about this weekend,I have no problem riding solo if it comes down to that.

I'm always game for Jeeping, I've been working on the new ride for several weeks now and it's bound to be... something.

New ride? What's up?
Sounds like I better install that 3" lifter kit on the FJ, eh?

Yeah, you may want to get that FJC up a little higher...

I'm working on a pickup, to replace my old Land Cruiser. It's a '98 GMC Sierra that is getting 1 Ton solid axles with lockers and 37" tires. It's our backcountry exploring/camping rig. I hope I can do some camping/riding trips, using the truck as a base. Find somewhere in the Swell, etc to set up camp and head out for some good riding over a long weekend.

Long, rambling build thread on my 4x4 site - http://www.rme4x4.com/showthread.php...998-GMC-Sierra

Headed to Moab in a couple weeks with friends! I think it will be awhile before GJ is dry enough for riding.

North Fruita desert was seriously muddy today. I would not have rode it. The sandy parts of Rabbit might better.

New to ADVrider

Thanks to Colorado Uli for suggesting Adventure Rider. The Grand JUnction area is a JEWEL. I've ridden for 40+ years and just got my first dual sport (DR650) last summer. I've about filled the cup with toys...touring scooter, check...touring big iron, check...dual sport, check. Any tips on how to improve my trail skills would be greatly appreciated.

My wife loves to ride pillion so I extended her pegs to keep her knees out of her ears. Simple plates bolted on. Lowered her pegs about three inches and made it much more comfortable for her.

I'm looking forward to meeting some of you and benefiting from your expertise...I'm here to learn! Thanks folks.
