Yes, that is a RD07 tank. It won't work.
This is the extra tank I've got for sale. Notice the curves on the lower section of the tank and only one center hole mount on the rear of the tank... for sure a RD03/RD04 tank. This is the style you're after.

Tank swapping
The RD03 & 04 tanks you would be able to swap , but the RD 07 (93 onwards ) will not work because of the airfilter location .The RD07 sits quite high on top of your frame for deeper wading through rivers .I have had mine (RD07) seat height through a river for about 100 metres and no problem . The RD03 and 04 fuel tank capacity is 28 liters and the07 is 25 liters , because of the airfilter.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the advice and clarification on the tanks. As for the replacement, I will still try and find one more locally. If not, I'll hope that the nice blue one is still available. If not, them's the brakes. I have a few more pressing issues than the tank right now (actually them issues are the brakes...) Also, I don't know if anyone knows the part number off hand for the little gear wheel that causes all the troubles at the wheel end of the speedometer assemby? |

The '89 Transalp and XRV650 uses the same plastic speedo gear drive. Just make sure to clean all the bits out of it and use white lithium grease when putting it back together (and watch the two little tabs when offering up the wheel again). Here's a link to the part number when I did my Transalp (I used the exact part in my RD03 as well). http://www.advrider.com/forums/showp...7&postcount=55

Can any one please tell me what the colour (or color!) code for my black '00 bike is please? Or where I can find it, I looked in the service book but the space for it has not been filled in. Thanks.
