Don't forget Scott from Arizona + there is another XRV rider up in the bay area (Eddy "VK"), but I don't think he's active in this forum.
I don't know Scott, but I won't forget him ........

Yeah, I remember. I also remember Lipencott Road. Good times, good times.

For me .... a trek down south is easy enough. I'm open and free any time in March through the beginning of June. So maybe we all start talking after the 1st of the year and try to shore something up.

i think that 1998 AT lives in wisconsin with PAPA PETE . LAST TIME I SAW IT IT LOOKED VERY HAPPY WITH IT'S NEW OWNER.when is this CALI ride planned for??? i haven't been to cali since 1989 . 'going back to cali" sounds pretty good at this time ( it's -25c here)

No word of anything yet. I think it is time to start putting in some suggestions for places and times.

Since I really like it there my obvious first suggestion is the Lake June area in the Eastern Sierras of California around June.

Open to all other suggestions...

HEY JIM, HOW MUCH SNOW DO YOU HAVE??? AT LEAST YOU CAN GO SKIING,HERE IT'S TOO COLD. i would love to go to another AFRICA TWIN/ TRANSALP RALLY. cali might be out of the question .after rick ( dirty rick) bought that TDM850 all he talks about is going north to DAWSON CITY. MAYBE IT'S JUST THE BEER TALKING. I'm after a SUZUKI DR750. (and some more touratech crap for my bike) i got a GPS FOR FREE ( IT WAS A PRIZE AT THE BAR THAT NOBODY WON????) i'll have to start playing with that over the winter.

Just a few inches and 15F. There's plenty in the mountains for skiing.

I may be interested in the Cali gathering depending on time of year. I just don't want to do Death Valley in August. Anyone interested in doing a roving rally of Colorado in July or August? It would be camping or motel at a different location every night.

Jim.

A roving rally is one that moves around from town to town. The beauty of it is the variety of ways to get to the next destination. You can choose all dirt, all paved or a combination of both.

I wondered when you were gonna let that cat out of the bag .....

I definitely don't think this would conflict at all .... at least not IMO.

I would think somewhere, maybe ......, in April / May ?, for a Cali thing ????

Anyone? I've never been to D.V. - if that's where this took place - so I don't know what it's like down there at that time. I do know at that time of the year I can definitely get out of my state .... without having to go majorly out of my way to avoid passes. Later march is pretty much good as well.

So ... all you Cali peeps - what's it like down there March through May for possible summit type activity or D.V. type activity?
