I have another question: Isn't the RD04 bar the same as the TA? I'm not at my computer now and cant do the cross ref.

So my first question is - is there any difference with the bars on an RD07 v.s. the RD04?

Papa Pete!

That's a project I'll keep an eye on!

Yes, we can ride all year long, you have to be creative to squeeze new routes out of a 100 by 35 miles island!!!! The best thing is that you can go to those bikini/tongs filled beaches and when the heat goes up, you can go to the mountains to kool down to 60F.... But most of the dirt roads are good for a 250cc - 400cc range... Lots of hilly muddy slippery dirt roads here... And it rains a lot...

And btw, we are a happy family here!

The project was thought of from the creative stuff that I saw in the tranalp mod thread.

And as always Jim, YOU ROCK!

Handlebar

No, they are not the same. The TA and AT part number starts with the same number:
  • TA - 53100-MM9-000
  • XRV650K - 53100-MS8-000
  • XRV750S - 53100-MY1-000
Sorry, but they might fit.

I googled it and this came up... http://zsf-motorrad.de/de/Ersatzteil...-OBERE-BRUECKE

No experience with them!!!

I think all the ebay bars look bent 'cause the ARE !

Stock Honda bars aren't even good for a stanging-still-in-the-shop tip over.

Get close with the Renthal Dakar bend and use that.

Hey G Funk,

I just changed bars....used Pro=Taper 7/8" ATV bend. Also added Rox Risers (with rubber inserts) and it is perfect for me at least. I cut the Pro Tapers to 31" and routed the clutch cable differently and all cables are fine.

ATV bend has the same rise as the stock TA bars but sweep backward about an inch more.

HOpe that helps you.

Good point Ladder .......

This is not a crisis type of thing for me, and my inner OCD monster is not trying to get out, but I have to admit I do like the sweep on the OEM AT bars.

I will probably go with the DAKAR bars, and I'm sure the sweep will be fine on them, and I can also put risers on if need be.
Before I do any of that, I am going to start really looking into the various ATV bars that I can get over here for a little less.

On another note - today I pick up my plastics ......
