Hey!

Yea, just as you said, it looks like the bars in the eBay pic are bent. Is it intentional and if so, why?

It is very clear to me now why more fuel on board isn't needed for you.

I came across the VTR250 at a really good price and I've been picking up
parts like the transalp tank, tranalp frame, inverted forks complete with front wheel and disk brake system from a CR250. The XR200 has been sitting around for a while with a toasted head. When I sat down and read the transalp mods that were being done, I thought hey the VTR dosen't have to be a track day bike. Put the parts together and make a baby beast.

I wonder, why did you took off the gas tank at the mudhole?
To reduce the weight and make it easier to manhandle. In the end, I got it out by laying it down (with the dry-bags under it to stop it sinking), filling in the holes with dry clay, putting my roll-mat under the wheels, then lifting it upright and driving it out on the fuel left in the carbs

G-Funk redux

I like the look, but then I also liked the look of copperhead less the fugly seat cover that was on it. I really had hoped you would do the Rothman paint, but it's your money and your ride.

On my bike I went with CR mini high bends with the protaper mounts that replace the stock mounts. Quite happy with them on both short and long rides. Off rode riding on the goat trails when you need to stand up more is where they fall a little short with me. I think I'll add 1" to 1 1/2" spacers under the mounts to get the proper fit for my height.
