I came across the VTR250 at a really good price and I've been picking up
parts like the transalp tank, tranalp frame, inverted forks complete with front wheel and disk brake system from a CR250. The XR200 has been sitting around for a while with a toasted head. When I sat down and read the transalp mods that were being done, I thought hey the VTR dosen't have to be a track day bike. Put the parts together and make a baby beast.

Which MRA did you order, the Touring, the Vario, or the Vario touring? Let me know how it works at highway speeds when you get it because the Vario touring is on my short list along with some rox-risers. thanks.
I did my first ride on the Africa Twin since I had my shoulder rebuilt in September. It was a great day in Az. And we did the apache trail, shoulder feels great and I'm glad to be back in the saddle. I will post a couple of pictures later.

On my bike I went with CR mini high bends with the protaper mounts that replace the stock mounts. Quite happy with them on both short and long rides. Off rode riding on the goat trails when you need to stand up more is where they fall a little short with me. I think I'll add 1" to 1 1/2" spacers under the mounts to get the proper fit for my height.
Members ????? At this moment I have a full 2nd set of plastics and a tank. I thought scoring a set, specially for the amount I got it all for, was a good idea in general ......

Thanks for the tid-bit on the bars .... I'll have to check into them.

Thumb Phase 01 99.something done .....

Here are some better "nicey-nice" shots from today. All that's left, as I mentioned is the shield which arrives on Weds. And then depending on whether I score that other cowl, talkin' to the decal man.

If I score the other cowl, then the current all white one goes into stock for future ideas.

After this comes some small stuff like new bars, powder coating black the dashcover I have for it (like Northrider's), and possibly - though I haven't decided yet, powdercoating black the bash plate.

Anyhow here are some pics ......

Copperhead looks good! Wish I could have made the Co. ride to see it before it was transformed. More of the AZ ride from yesterday.

I'm glad to be back in the saddle.

Hi Scott, good to know you're back out there. Here are some pictures of a ride I did with Andreas a couple of weeks ago.
