Hi from France everyone!
I've been reading this forum and especialy this thread for some time and finally registered because I bought an @ this weekend (and it's because of you I must say, all those pictures!).

I passed my license in 2005 after reading someone's trip in Africa on a Suzuki 600 DR Djebel. And of course I bought myself one (four months later I bought a 1100 GSXR, not very clever but still alive!).

Anyway, here's a picture of my two beautys:

The bike on the left is an Aprilia RSVmille R Haga SBK Replica (one of 300 made) and my new toy is the 1995 @.

ps: you might have to excuse the mistakes I will be typing, my english really is rusted...

Here's one that made me chuckle .......

And unfortunately there are no pics ...... but in some ways it wasn't a pic moment - that being scenery, etc ....

So yesterday, after I took another ride out to see if the leaves were really changing to the west of me (which they really weren't yet ) I stopped at the grocery store to pick up a couple items before heading home. I typically park in at the front, where the carts are returned, and yesterday was no exception.

Well I dismount and take off my helmet, and I hear from behind me .....

Is that an Africa Twin ?????? Like for real ???????

I turn around to see a car parked with a mom filling out a grocery list, and her son - he had to be about 15 - with his eyes the size of baseballs and his jaw dropped ......

I said, yeah .....

He said ...... Oh. My. God ...........

We then proceeded to talk bikes for a few, and in general the kid knew what he was talking about.

It's good to see the younger generations haven't completely forgotten about this stuff ......

G.

Oh - I'm off to check out what it's like to the east ..... Perhaps G will snap some nice pics.

Well .... Fall has not really fell yet out here in Oregon. I would suspect that in the next 9 or 10 days from now, due to rain and cold, it will.

I went North East through a bunch of little rural towns that I know today, and then at one point, I took this road to the East that I'd not taken before. It wound up skirting one of the reservoirs in the area. It was a mixture of chip seal and mellow gravel, and here's some shots ....

It dropped in elevation just before it turned to pavement again, and brought me out on a road on that wrapped around south west, and brought me back to an intersection outside of Fall Creek that for the life of me, I'd never taken before ......

Couple last shots .....

Take it easy everyone .....

G.

G-Funk- Good pics... I spotted a few red and yellow trees on my back down to Corvallis. You should come up here and we'll have to do a fall colors ride. Give the trees a couple weeks and everything will be red....

I just can't believe it !!!

My first bike was an Aprilia RSV 1000 like yours and I sold it to buy an Africa Twin. The bike got destroyed after a bad crash in Barcelona earlier this year and I've just bought a nice Africa Twin this week end too, with the same colour scheme.

I just can't believe it !!!

The brand "Braking" also makes these, model called "wave" and costs about 204euros the front pair.
