Hey G-F,

Confirming dates for NAATS are fixed ..... like engraved in a hunk of granite somewhere.

Hafta sign up for vacation days on Dec 3 so I want to be sure. I have the blessings of the family so unless something catastrophic happens count me IN !!

...........ya know, I don't think I've actually planned anything so far in advance before..........kinda scarey.

Shalom!

The Dynojet page sells them directly, and will even mail them to you. They did it for me and I live in Ecuador! Just look up you bike model. If you need help, let me know. All the best,

Luigi

They are fixed .......

They aren't engraved on a chunk of granite, but they are scratched on a piece of lexan plastic.

Seriously - Yes ..... the dates on the post page are the dates it's going on.

I'll also PM ya to make sure you get this info.

And - for what's it's worth, I've never planned out something this far in advance either .....

If it's the same stuff as on the Transalp, you can get the plastic gearwheel seperatly. Most of the time it's the tabs on there that are eaten up by the tabs on the steel ring. I managed to extend the life of the wheel by bending the metal tabs a bit to the inside.
Looks like this is what you need, at 1/5 of the price for the complete gearbox. (I did a search on a 1994 AT)

Thumb The Legend

Honda, take heed:

"Since the beggining of times, the men of the earth planned the arrival of that who'd come to be the most perfect masterpiece of mankind. Historians have found several messages from our ancestors which heralded the arrival of the machine which would make the dream of the Man come true. THE LEGEND."

A post on our local Portuguese Africa Twin Forum, by our member Jó, who has just drunk the inspiration wine and came up with this most excellent essay. Cheers, Jó

Thanks Guys!

The plastic gear was DOA but the worm gear would not turn all the time. There is a lot of end play and when at one end of the limit it just locks up. I'll do the disassembly when I get back from my trip, Thanks for the link!

By the way, had the new one in a week from David Silver Spares.

Steve

It is important that everytime you take off the front wheel, check the gear and add a little grease if necesary...SOP for me.
