AT 04 and 07 has the same exhaust pipe diameter, only mounting points are not the same. Easy solution is mounting clamps for oval exhaust and it fit perfectly.

Are these mounting clamps an aftermarket product? Not sure what you are talking about, any photos of a set of these clamps so I can see what you are talking about.

Again, thanks for the help

Does anyone have a list of bikes that uses the FH008 regulator/rectifier, even if the list is one?

Thanks

I've always liked Africa Twins but never bought one,
I've always wanted to do a full rebuild on a bike.
I've always wanted to ride around North Africa*

Something weird happened today... :) (I am getting there!)

I was looking for a new iMac today and found an Africa Twin that looks in need of a good bit of TLC and is crying out to be stripped down and rebuilt. I am going to go and look at it on friday (thats what I told my wife but I'll probably buy it there and then)

Anyway I have 2 questions....

1. anyone know what model it is from this picture...

2. Anyone know any good rebuild threads and rebuild project blogs?

It's an XRV750 RD04

A current rebuild thread by Thunder (albeit for an RD07A) is ongoing over on the XRV Forum

Yikes..........

I'm just hoping you're quick RE-PAINTING it.

If the black paint on the main frame isn't just at that one spot and involves the entire frame, it will have been completely apart at least once before for the ......errr...."re-paint".

I'd take the time to pull at least both side panels off to make sure it was re-assembled with something close to the standard parts and fasteners.

If it's all wire, duct-tape, and zip-ties....I think I'd pass. Although "rescuing" this poor beast certainly has the same appeal as rescuing an abused animal.

Hello all, I've been away for a while, partly due to my @...

Anyway, my bike has been making some nasty noises when starting from 1st, my guess is either the bearing behind the clutch basket (best case) or gear box related (worst case)...

Fixing it would take a lot of time and money so I went on and got the best @ I could get and now I will take my time and try to fix the old one in order to sell it at a reasonable price...

Here is the new kid:

It's in great condition and the engine feels brand-new compared to the old one (only 28.000 kms on the clock, and they seem to be real)

I will start a thread in xrv.org.uk and post a link here, I will need your help to get the old one rolling nicely again...

Lol yes!

I'll have a good look around it but , it's supposed to be mechanically sound and at the price it's going for I am happy to take a risk
