Africa Twin in pieces

If you subscribe at xrv.org, they have a link to the parts lists for @'s. Find the pages that have to do with the engine fitment to the frame, and you'll get a very useful idea of what goes where in the process of fitting the engine back into the frame. Same applies to all the other bits too, for that matter.

Also, you can still buy a copy of the workshop manual at David Silvers in the UK. It's a photocopy, so not too expensive. Mailing from there takes about 10 days. It has drawings showing routing of the wires and hoses, the wiring diagram and a lot of other useful info. You'll be glad to have it.

Good luck. DennisM

Get yourself a small trolly jack like in the pic. The tape on the frame will save you from scratching the paint.

Rescued RD04 from time capsule

After a long search was able to find an unmolested RD04.

Such a short sentence for six months of fighting red tape and a journey of 5000 miles

Glad it's arrived - this is pretty much a museum piece - the most unmolested RD04 I've ever seen - over 21 years old and still running an immaculate original can

At least we now no longer have the temptation of having it staring at us every day..................ENJOY!!

GSPD - this one is a definite contender for being shinier than your RD07A

Wow....looks like is just came out of the crate from the handlebar closeup.

Nicely done.

Share some details about the search and capture. It's always nice to see another inmate that's nuts for old Rallye type bikes. Looks like you'll need a DR750 to round out the list.

Searched for over a year

Looked at a lot of bikes. Lucked on to this with the help of mysterious strangers that I have named the Baker Street Irregulars. They noticed my searches and contacted me.

Oh, you have to be more forthcoming than THAT.

When Stormforce is impressed and gives away a 5000 mile trip, red tape problems and now you're using Holmes references, there simple must be a good story (or three) connected with this.

Don't worry I doubt the US DOT reads this thread.

Any chance of a "group photo" with all of your rides? Oh wait, I'm looking at Stormforces sig. line.....sorry. I can't look at any more of his photos because it always ends in either buying something nice for the bike or 4 days in the shop making the mods I've been putting off.
