Short answer is yes - currently we have the RD03/04 Crashbars in production, (pic below is of the mock up)

Next up is the Transalp XL650V Crashbars - THEN we can move onto soft luggage frames for the Africa Twins.

Basically they will be protection bars for the rear that you can also strap soft luggage to and keep it out of the wheel and off the exhaust.

Something along the lines of what I have on my Tenere, but with a cross brace at the rear - we just got to decide which ones to do first - RD04 or RD07/07A

Howdy! How are the protection bars for the rear for the RD04 doing? Any progress?

Happy holidays

That topic came up at the NAATS in 2010 and if I remember correctly the number of 40-50 was agreed upon. Now...don't ask me how or why that number was chosen. The following pic has a few.
Appears to be more coming into Canada everyday but my guess would still only put them around 20-30 here...if that.
Don't really know how many AT's Honda built in their run from '89-'03 but I did read somewhere in which 100,000 units of the XL 600v Transalps were made from '87-'99....pretty much one on every corner in Europe.

I've seen Joz proudly flaunting his AT in our area of Denver...

40-50... I guess that's about what I suspected.

Do you think Honda believe the new NX700xCIS is supposed to give the USA a modern Africa Twin experience?

I asked the same question for how many in Australia some time ago and the answer is in the vicinity of 20-25. It would be interesting to know how many we're built and where they were exported to, as the amount in the US and Oz isn't very many at all! I just bought one and yes they are 'expensive' for for their age I suppose, but you're getting a great well built bike and not everybody has one.
