I need a set of rear luggage carriers and really like the original ones... I have 2 Africa Twins (2003 RD 07) and ride extensively in South America. I have spent 3 months on the road this year and am presently in Tulua,Colombia. Home is Cuenca ,Ecuador. A trip is planned soon for 2 to 3 months in Brasil.
The luggage carriers give excellent protection to the muffler and rear of the moto. I have made a tool box in stainless steel for the left side and find it excellent for the necessary tools.
Does anyone have a pair of these around I could buy to fit out my second A/T the same way??
Any help much appreciated.

Hello Dave. Sounds like your having a great trip. I'm not familiar with the OEM racks as I have the Touratech racks which I find very robust...almost like a roll cage. Don't know what to suggest other than the Evo-Lock system over at Twisted Throttle. I would like to hear more on your current trip someday...blog?...and then 2-3 months in Brazil....Wow...that retired life is working out well I can see. Ride safe.

Quick question(s) guys: do you take a toll roll with you when going out on the track? If yes, what brand? Normally, containing which tools?

I'm looking to buy one from Kriega, but boy are they expensive!!!

Looking forward to reading your comments.

Thanks.

Cheers and happy 2013

Sounds like the engine may have been submerged in water to cause that conrod to bend. The only good deal your going to find are 2nd hand parts for sale on places such as ebay. In europe (not sure where you are) it's common to see cylinders and heads for sale but pistons and conrods not so much.

Buying new conrods don't come cheap either.

Another option is to buy a whole used engine from a wrecked bike which occasionally come up on ebay.

On ebay in the UK at the minute theres a bloke selling a bros/revere with spares inc a RD04 engine. He says in the ad he may split. Search africa twin in bikes, you cant miss it.

Hello GSD750, thanks four the reply. About the conrod it´s not bend it´s wear down on the top, betwen the conrod and piston pin. What did happened, what was the reason?? I´me still thinking??
