time to gather positive vibes for a fellow AT inmate who s lifestyle has taken a sudden turn . Mother nature has decided to take away his lifestyle but thankfully not his life ( or any family members).

Jim has always been there for us all, in many different ways. We have all, at one time or another thanked him for his insight/ tip/part/advise or else
.
One of his friends has started a fund raise to help defray some of the urgent cost of being stranded . Every bit will help.
Think about jim and his loved ones when you relax in the comfort of your living room tonite.

Yes, I threw my AT and Super Tenere in the bed. I just found out the house is a total loss. As much as I would like to ride with everyone, I need to reset and reassess. I hope to see everyone soon at another gathering.

Devastated to hear about Jim's situation. As if he hasn't had enough to deal with, here's another challenge.
Jim, know that you've got friends and support from all over the world. Wishing you and your family the best!!

Best Wishes Jim!!!

Just a lowly TA rider here, but I have an AT swingarm and hub and want to gear it down for my 18 inch rim to help with steep and rocky up-hills at 10,000 to 12,000 feet (3,000 M).

I have a 47 tooth, but is there anyone in Europe perhaps that makes a 50-52 tooth for an Africa Twin?

It looks like I will have to buy a blank and machine the holes.

****I didn't realize the RD03 was different, I have a JTR1332-47 currently http://www.jtsprockets.com/catalogue/sprocket/JTR1332. Also, today I talked to these guys: http://dirttricks.com/product-catego...rear-sprockets and in a month or two they should be able to cut anything you want out of the good stuff....*******

I ended up buying a custom made 52 tooth Aluminum one from http://pmpsprockets.com/, $72.45 shpped, they were helpfull and it was easy. These guys were real helpful too: http://www.rebelgears.com/

A very helpfull inmate told me to look at http://www.wemoto.com/ they only say +3 teeth, that would be 48 teeth, but they wanted 36 quid, so about $57 plus shipping from the UK.

They can also do a 50 tooth here: http://shop.pbisprockets.com/searchq...?keywords=3063

Cheers!

Jim, I am absolutely heart-broken for you. If there is ANYTHING Stefan and I can do, please let us know - those aren't empty words. We really mean it. I'm so glad you, your family, the doggies and the motorcycles are okay. But I'm so, so sorry for this tremendous loss.

Greetings from the Yukon. I'm currently in Whitehorse visiting with friends....good food and a good shower. D2D was a blast where I camped for 3 nights.
I saw 3 other AT's and 2 older TA's during the event.
1st pic shows a pair of AT's (his n' hers) driven by a nice couple from the Netherlands and the 2nd pic shows one driven by a women from Germany. I will be heading down the Stewart/Cassiar hwy probably tomorrow... so more later if I get the time.

side note...sorry to hear about your property loss Jim. Hope it all sorts out for you. Speaking of property loss I'm just catching up on the news from the flood in my home town of Calgary...yikes! All is well at our house I've been told.
...later
Wayne

Emission Tag/Sticker Location for a 1990 XRV750 RD04 (Austrian)

Forum Members,

Hello. I recently acquired an RD04 and would like to learn if Honda provided an emissions sticker or tag on the motorcycle. I've referenced the Honda XRV750L Service Manual book, Haynes Service and Repair Manual and pulled off the side covers and seat was unable to locate an emission tag. I did notice a small sticker near the frame's stamped VIN that reflects an E3 or E10, if I recall correctly.

Also, should the stamped engine number, behind the exhaust's heat shield be the same as the frame's VIN number?

Motorcycle:1990 Honda XRV750 from Austria
VIN: RD0430002xx
Location: California
Previous/Current Registration: Virginia

Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

David

Engine and frame numbers do not have to match.

I'm assuming that you are trying to register the bike in California.

If so, I recommend you contact Donna Leek at Professional Registration Service. pro.reg.service@gmail.com

Donna can be a huge help with DMV registration in California. I'd recommend you contact her first before trying your luck with the DMV folks. If you haven't noticed, your bike does not have a 17 digit VIN. This normally results in lots of confusion at DMV.

There is, of course, a fee for Donna's serviced but it is well worth the time, effort and frustration she will save you. And you will end up with a Cal. plate and registration. You only have to do this once. Once you get in the system, just make certain you renew on time.
