Battery

Take a look at Moto-Batt. Not the cheapest, but good.

I have one of these, and I never looked back. Tried several other options (the original, the givi, and some others) and this is the best for me. I am 1,75 metres.

I've seen one on eBay, but 290 are allot of money for a used one. Are there any alternative that could do the same as the original?

Valve Clearance

Just for info:
I have done valve check after no compromising 80.000 km of mostly offroad drive style like these (recent):

I think in my offroad history Sahara's deep sand driving on 5000+ high revs was most heavy "damage"
for engine where sand entered through Fuel cap. On the other hand I used original dry Air Filter and it worked like v good..

There was also once bad situation when I have completely submarined her on offorads in Slovenia.

so after Check

Amazingly VALVEs had Completely ZERO Offset.
No adjusting needed at all.

Maybe I share some info with you guys you could benefit:

Oil change every 5000km with filter
/ only Castrol Grand Prix 10/40 used
/ just once Motul
/ just once Agip

Extra info:
/ First Clutch (amazingly)
/ Splines on drive shaft like new (very loosen chain always),
/ From 40.000 on Mikuni pump with extra fuel jets settings for AT hot engine
/ First Chain Slider :) and the bike is extra tall (again chain slack always set for needs)

Changed and used:
/ Many wheel and sprocket bearings changed
/ 3xFuel Filter clogged and replaced
/ Front Suspension WP50 rebuild 4 times
/ Rear Suspension Ohlins rebuild 1 time
/ Steering bearings changed once (amazingly)
/ Many Chains (RK and DID)
/ Many Sprockets used (JT, OEM, Supersprox, France Eq, Chiravalli)
/ 2 times sprockets rubber changed
/ 2 times Regler-Rectifier before installing Sparkbright
/ Choke Plungers waxed 2 times per season
/ once Carb Sinchro
/ Many Clucth and Speedo Cables
/ Many Grips
/ Brake Callipers and pistons cleaned many times
/ Many brake pads
/ Many many tires

For the end compression ratio was v.good on both cylinders.

Does this make any sense to you?

Pickuped up my new panniers from Heavy Duties yesterday:

I mounted them at a post office in Sweden, in pouring rain. On my way home the fuel pump failed on me, so I had to wait an hour for the car rescue service. I have ordered a new Facet from Rugged Roads -- I just hope they ship it fast :)
