Question Throttle question

Hello, I'm rebuilding my RD 03, and I would like to install a Magura throttle (enduro-type).
This has only one cable. I'm sure the spring in the carbs is strong enough to pull that single cable back. Now the big question: Do you realy need that second cable. I paid attention at this and all four stroke bikes I checked have dual throttle cables, even the MX-bikes. If I need the second cable is it for safety or it is something mechanical I'm not aware of. I asked this question at my wrench-buddies but none of them could come up with a descent answer. So now I'm trowing it world wide,

Ignition Coils : RD04 XRV750 & XL600V: Interchangeable?

Hello forum members. Can anyone confirm if the '89 600cc Transalp ignition coils are interchangeable with the RD04 XRV750 ignition coil? They appear similar in size and shape. If possible, I'd rather source the xl600V coils in the USA and avoid the expense of ordering XRV750 coils overseas. Thanks in advance! David

The second cable is there (a) for the lawyers and (b) so you have another one to use if the main (pull) cable breaks

You don`t need that second cable.
Better than Magura is a "Gunnar Gasser" throttle.

Hi everyone!
Been away for a while because I had sold my AT... I know...
I've missed it ever since!

A month ago, I had a bad accident (unharmed, a miracle, VFR800 destroyed...) and it's time to come back to my first love!

At first I was looking for a RD07... because they look better!
And then I found this very bike for sale!!!
Unfortunetely, LaCase wouldn't answer and apperently the bike was sold!

Then I thought, I'm buying an AT to eventualy drop it... why buy a pretty one!
And why wouldn't it be possible for me to build the same?

So i have a couple of questions:
He cut the rear side fairings, therefore there is only one screw holding that part: won't it rattle a lot?
He cut the seat for a single seater: how is that seat fixed to the frame?
Is it bolted on like an XR 600, or just clipped and opens with ignition key?
Is the linkage of the suspension the same as a RD07?

I doubt I could replicate the front fairing... but I have all winter to try...
I found a couple of interesting ones for sale, so just gathering information before I make up my mind...

don't forget: it's not because you're a good rider that it doesn't mean others aren't good enough to get you...
Ride safe!
