OK that went over your head.

It was just a joke.

Fischer and others out there are using/have attempted to use Hyosung engines and entire "rebadged" 250 and 650 motorcycles.

It was just a joke.

So, at $30k it's about $4k more than many thought it should be.

All this bitching and moaning over $4k?

Still think Motus is like a British Bitsa.

No.

They were showing a blinged out bike and the rumors were +/- $25,000.

The blinged out bike is now slotted at $37,000.

That's $12,000 difference from what was being discussed.

They can't simply lower the cost of the existing model, so it will be a "new" bike with changes some order of magnitude great enough to be accepted as different from the original.

What else is left to take off? You could go lower spec on the forks, but there isn't anything offered that you can take away on the base model. Well, the powerlet and the bags. Everything else is an add-on, even the adjustable bars and adjustable shield. Your mode would make sense if they never offered the base bike up front to tag the high dollar sales with the low spec model a year or two later. Sadly, they shot the wad at Harley bike week....just like EH did back in the day.

I haven't had a bigger WTF moment since the v-max was re-done (ugly and slower). $5k off the mark is a big deal (for one of the later posters) when you are talking about a $25k vs $30k price point. That's 20% higher than most interested people expected.

I would have rather seen Motus do well under the original plan at a price point open up to more people rather than being absorbed and possibly 'corperation-ized' making it not what it is now....a bike I really wish I could justify the cost. Just can't do it now.

make your original press release say, "bike for 1%'ers " and we respect you, lead us astray with talk like "premium, but not out of reach by most riders" and we think you lied is how I see it-

Kirb and Bueller are putting their money were their mouth is...
I myself would save the $22000,get a brand new Honda ST1300 and a put a custom paint job on it saying MOTUS 1600...
How times have changed;the bikes for and the "1%'ers" of today...
While I still think 1%'s don't ride and spend their money on expensive chicks, mansions,Lear Jets,Yachts and high end cars...
A motorcycle for only $37K is only for the downtrotten proletarian masses waiting to get exploited in their capitalist paradise...
