Yeah, and the Motus has a PUSHROD engine...real 1908 tech there.

Anyhow, my 2 cents is that Motus priced themselves out of 80% of the market, easy. Hopefully it'll change, as I was really anticipating the bike to be in the 12-15k range, not 20-26k.

Good luck Motus.

Has anybody thought about what would happen if they offered the bike at a price everybody here who wanted one could pay - say $12K ... and then built only 300 a year?

(Which is about how many they say they want to build - or at a stretch, up to 1000.)

Your thoughts welcome ...

As they were trying to get one percent of the one percent piece of the pie no less. To price out 80%....

How big do you think their intended market is?

It will be built in limited quantities by nature of the size of the company, and they knew it would be a low-volume bike built for a special consumer.
I suspect they hit the targets they were aiming at - remains to be seen whether it's a viable market in this economy.

I don't believe there is anything good that can come out of MOTUS joining the pile on bitch fest that has been this thread. In fact my guess is after reading approximately two of boxer-lust's posts they will assume there are no intelligent motorcycle riders in the U.S. (not to mention potential customers), pack up their company, and move to Europe.

I've been following Motus and this thread for a while now and I find it kind of depressing - not that the bike is expensive, but that a large number of the people here seem to be doing nothing but whining about the cost of this machine and bitching about how they'd do it better. I think we should all just be happy that there's a new bike on the scene, and applaud those guys for taking this project from scratch up to a really hot, functional and seemingly well built bike!

As if half of the people here would even buy a new model from a dealer in the first place, even if it was $12000. Cheapskates and naysayers, the lot of you....

I say good work, Motus, and ignore most of the members here, if you are reading. Some of us are actually cheering you on.

I came back to see if there was any news about the actual MOTUS and instead nit picking rules the thread. I wonder why anyone would build a motorcycle to get torn up like this.

No Motus news since they announced prices. What do you want to know?

Saw the bike at Fast By Ferracci in Philedelphia, PA las Nov.
  • It does have a seductive exhaust note (think big V8)
  • looks fantastic
  • 100,000 (yes, one-hundred-thousand) mile valve intervals
  • probably about $20,000 (less than a k1600gt)

sorry bout the sound it was filmed on my phone

That is, after they add ABS and B-L says "I told you so."
