A fair assessment, IMHO. Raiders lose to Cleveland. Yech.

How do you think the Broncos are going in the right direction? They've lost the last 3. Not that I am complaining. I think that is the proper direction for the Broncos.

No posts for three days. The bandwagon is officially empty, I guess.

Brandon Marshall suspended for Sunday's game. That won't help.

Denver wins, though.

Too much college football acting as a distraction.

Will Brandon be in Denver next year?

You have to wonder what McDaniels is doing. Is he chasing off a talented but no-character player on purpose?

Not a repeat of Cutler, say it isn't so.

That sure is what it feels like, deja vu.

next year the broncos will have a guy that can't throw more than 15 yards tossing to guys who can't get open. I fear the Broncos may have a petite tyrant...and he is running off one of the best receiving corps in the NFL.

Some of the worst tendencies of Belichick, without any wisdom to balance it out?

Mort says the team is behind the decision to bench Marshall. They may be tired of Brandon, too. Sounds like he is gone.

I like New England's emphasis on character. You have to believe it's a big part of their success this decade.

Thomas Dimitroff came to Atlanta from New England and brought that philosophy with him. In short order he and Mike Smith have cleaned out an Atlanta locker room filled with bad attitudes and losers, and filled it with character guys. In a rough, injury-plagued season the Falcons haven't folded or bickered. That's a great sign for the future.

If McDaniels is doing the same thing in Denver, I think you need to give him some time. I just hope the GM shares his philosophy. It's kinda hard to pull off if it's just one man's philosophy, versus an entire organization's commitment to character.

Building a team based upon Character, will be a challenge of increasing difficulty in today's NFL, especially as time elapses.

My perception is that many of the leaders on the Pats are approaching the ends of their careers.

Players have been interested in their pay from the time I have been aware of football, but the increasing amounts of contracts, the rise of the players Union, and the perception of shorter careers contributes to the increased emphasis on $$$.

I look at a guy like Tony Romo and I see the future.

I see Dimitroff finding character guys in college. I think they're there, always will be.

IMHO the problem is that as New England's philosophy spreads, via disciples in Denver, Kansas City and Atlanta, that there will be more demand for the high character guys. And there are only so many skilled, high character guys around.
