I think these numbers include the KC game. Here's Orton's season. Not that bad. Twice as many TD's as interceptions. But 20 TD's ties him for sixteenth in the NFL. Midtable. His report card might read: "Good semester, could do better."

Interestingly, Jay Cutler only has 23 TD's, as does McNabb.

Granted, the defense gave up 260yd rushing to Jamaal Charles, but they were still in the game til Orton forgot which team had the white unis on.

Wax is throwing out Orton's stats. The problem is that stats don't show the situation. 2 of the interceptions Orton had today were at horrible times and were back breakers for them. Its one thing to throw a pick on a hail mary play just before halftime. Its another to throw a pick on a 7 yard route over the middle.

Well, to be fair, I was talking more about the season than the game. That's why I posted his season stats.

He was getting blamed for being a heartbreaker. But he's not the reason the Broncos aren't in the playoffs. He had a decent season.

He gets really inaccurate when under pressure. He will sail balls and throw picks. Timing doesn't show up in the stats. Orton is a killer when it counts.

When the offense fails to deliver, the blame starts with the QB. Its the QB that touches the ball on every offensive snap and has the option to audible.

yeah, orton does best in a structured offense in a 3-step drop (5 at the most), short passing routes, with simple, reliable checkdowns. seems like he was tolerable out of the shotgun at purdue as well.

if he has to wait for something to develop, and guys are pouring through the o-line, there's probably gonna be trouble. he's never shown a lot of skill at creating plays.
