How many times did the defense at Purdue bail the offense out of a jam while Orton was QB? I think Purdue was the #1 scoring defense his junior year.

i went back and looked at orton's numbers, and they are quite a bit better that i remembered.

certainly better than curtis painter or joey elliot.

purdue's offense was racking up a ton of yards that year, but once they got into the big ten they faded quickly.

Nope, but he gave up 14 points all by himself. He had no help from anyone on those 2 picks. They weren't tipped or otherwise fluke interceptions and they were both back breakers. #56 had two picks and took them both back for TD's. I believe the first one was when the game was tied at either 10 or 17 and the 2nd one was when the Broncos were down by 3pts.

Yes, Orton has been good, dare I say even great, at times this season. The original point I was trying to make was the quote "he's just good enough to break your hearts" fit perfectly into what happened in the Chief's game.

I pretty sure Orton threw for over 400yds and at least 2 TD's, but those 3 picks destroyed any chance of the Broncos winning the game.

Of course the Ravens and Jets destroyed any chance the Broncos may have had at making the playoffs anyway, so all this discussion is moot until at least the draft. So, do the Broncos take a flier on Bradford? With his shoulder problems, I'm sure he'll still be available by the time MickeyD gets his pick in the first round.

OR do you try and get Dumervil some help with a giant mobile lineman to take up some space?

Hope the Broncos are better than 8-8 next year.

Trade the two first rounders (10 or 11 and 14??) for Numba 1 and get some Suh.

So, umm, Brady Quinn? They picked up a backup QB from the Browns for a backup FB that McD wasn't going to play anyway. Good call?

I like it. Simms is gone, thank gawd. Quinn has to be an upgrade at least in that area. Question is, can McD use some of that QB magic he supposedly has to make this guy a winner?

Does this mean they won't be going after Tebow (as some sources are predicting) or does this mean they can go after Tebow even harder and let him develop for a couple years behind Quinn/Orton?

I will have no QB before Tebow.
Dear Tebow who art in Mile High Hallowed be thy name...

(I do agree, that for the price, the Quinn deal was a good one. I hope Peyton does well in Cleveland. I liked him, but McDaniels seemed to hold a grudge. )

I was hoping for Bradford and would settle for McCoy, but a few of the Mel Kiper types had pegged McD to take a shot at Tebow. With the Quinn trade, maybe he looks in another direction in the first round.

I can't see Marshall being around here very much longer. If they get a draft day deal for him - he's gone.

Tebow would not be the second coming of John. Sorry, nope, no way.

Hmmm, in the 40 Elway was a 4.6, Tebow's a 4.7.

With all due respect, I'm not sure that is a compelling statistic.
