WHAT?!? I couldn't hear you over all that noise that v-strom was making with its skidplate (& oil cooler) in that rock garden....

a spanking new Multistrada is a 4V 1200....but the original models came in 620, 1000, and 1100 w/ the 2V engines.

I'm not exactly sure, but the Vstrom looks out of place on that road.

The issue was it was being ridden by Mr. PkFtBm who had 4 bikes sitting at home that would have thrived in the environment but he showed up on that

He definitely deserves some though .. cuz we took him where no v-strom had gone before (and will likely never go again )

Didn't get any photos of the "good stuff".. too busy 'ing

Looking at the back of the front range from Stillwater Pass:

What, VStrom's don't belong in rock gardens??

Actually, it did better than I expected, though it definitely needs 1)more clearance, 2) better forks, 3) a real seat, 4) loose the front/rear fenders 5) better rock protection (!), 6) lower gearing 7).... ah screw it. Just get a KTM!

Those guys did torture me though for showing up on the Suzuki...

I sure as hell wasn't going to say no or back down from the "harder shortcut", (which of course ended up looping back to 20 yards from where we started!) Thanks guys for helping me Adventurize the Strom though.

How tough was Day 1 of the Red Bull Romaniacs? Only 30% of the Pros made the finish, just 1 Expert came in and none of the hobby riders! Glenn Tyson had a good showing, covering 50 of the 100 mile course in 8 hours. It had rained and conditions were tough, to say the least!

Shearboy...thanks for the video updates. Too bad Taddy is out after Day 1. I think he would have been in the hunt for the win this year.

Try thrift stores. I pick up project bicycles at my local store for less than $10.

Yep tough for Taddy but i have Birch [a Kiwi ] and Javis [on Sherco ] to root for so I'm good to go.
I do hope Chris Birch gets it this year he has been trying his heart out for this one for a while , he did get the Roof of Africa last year in fine form.

When are we good for another "There and Back " run Mate?
