I ALWAYS stop for chicken there.

As long as you stay on the roads, the rednecks won't bother you at all.

Incase any of you yahoos need new tires and happen to like Nokian, my online supplier just sent out a discount code:

Nokiantire20

That gives $20 off a set of 4 tires (the prices are already outstanding) AND free shipping. Company is Tiresbyweb ~ I've bought 2 sets of tires from them in the last few years and have been pleased with price, service and shipping time. I'd absolutely buy from them again

FWIW, we run the Nokian WR (and now the WR G2) on our Jetta year round. It hurt fuel economy a little on our TDI (from 48 to 46 mpg), but the wet road grip is outstanding, and snow/ice braking is only better with studded tires IMHO.

I run Nokian WR's on the Touareg... Definitely one of the best, if not the best, non studded winter tires out there.

But at $240 each, $20 off a set of four doesn't take that much of the sting of replacing them out!

Any of you Boulderites know where this road (North side of Gold hill rd.) off of the Switzerland trail leads to?

Rocks are big and loose...Got close to the top and started to hike up to the top but then said fuck it and turned around. Google maps shows it and it looks like it could be a dead end but it's hard to see.

After that climb (if it is where I think it is...), the road continues and connects onto sawmill road (the road that cuts down to Lefthand Canyon near Ward). If you don't climb up the hill and go straight instead, it dead ends, but there is also some unofficial single track that drops down, crosses the creek, and connects with Lefthand a little further East.

Thanks, P. I wondered if it connected with Sawmill Rd... That's the way i needed to go but I was running short on time and energy at that point so I only tried climbing it once, it's pretty rough!

Does it have a license plate?? I've been asked for my registration before on this trail.
