Taylor Rd, #330 near Allenspark. Another perfect road for noob off roading and Jeeping. Awesome views from up there. Just enough challenge to keep you alert.

The LEO was in his cruiser writing, the rider was sitting on the bike and staring straight ahead. I'm going with ticketing.

Went riding with a Kiwi buddy. The usual - going places we shouldn't have gone and did things we shouldn't have done. Who hauled all those rocks up 7 Mile Creek ? Was think of you PrairieDiver .

maintenance day.

It was a very nice, cool morning. Mowed the lawn, dove into the TE
Chain clean and adjust - oil and filter stuff ready to go.

A friend/coworker bought a Thruxton a few months back, brought it over today to have me help him replace the valve cover gasket.
While we waited for his bike to cool....

another oil and filter change.

a tire...

and finally, his bike. I'd never ridden a Thruxton before, but sorta didn't like them because they seemed too retro style and not much substance.
Riding it changed my mind, it's an awesome bike with a great feel.

Pulled the tank, rerouted a pinched gas line and replaced a section.
Simple bike, easy to tinker on. Weird shape to the seat.
I liked it a lot.

Question for those who know the American Basin area. I've heard it's got amazing wildflowers and am wondering if they'd be in full bloom, or it's past the best time? I figured that with the dryness before the monsoons finally kicked in, that maybe now is a good time to head over there. Thoughts?

Have been there when the flowers were fantastic, but I noticed that the ride report from north of Crested Butte (Schofield) didn't show many flowers (and last week was their wildflower festival), so may be a bad year. But hopefully somebody has been there recently and can fill you in. Certainly the paint brushes will still be blooming and the creek will be running.

Since that is the cafe racer seat, did you find any cafes?

Thanks for thinking of me concerning rocks, but usually it's when someone's riding Green Ridge and drowning a bike that my name comes up.

Webster was nice. Fairly low traffic.

The water crossing was low enough to have some fun in.

This was the DR650 inaugural run. Quite challenging with a bike that size. Much different than, by comparison teeyn machines.
