That's gotta be from last summer. That little bastard was gutsy. He'd come through my yard (just a block away) and up/down our drive several times a day going back and forth on neighborhood raids. Got to the point I'd have to chase him out or he'd just chill like he was the family dog.

Question for those "statistically" smart...

Any actuaries amongst us?

Article here:
http://www.economist.com/blogs/graph.../daily-chart-7

Chart:

Here's my question...

The last entry says that you are a 78 million to one chance of dying by impact of an asteroid.
Since the USA has say.. 300 million - does that mean 3 or 4 people in the USA were actually killed by an asteroid in 2008?

The riding lessons aren't for me, but I am getting royalty fees from Lucas Films for advertising the 'Luke Look'. Good thing my Tonton was just out of the photo.

Here is a more applicable death curve that includes motorcycles. Note that riding is safer than driving, which we all knew already:

I love heights!! They say there are two types of people when it comes to heights and if you put them on top of a tall building one will go to the edge and peer over and be amazed. The other stands in the middle of the roof and says that they want to get down, now.
Here's me peering of the top of a rock cliff at the top of Pikes peak for ya Geek!

Not meaning to piss on such comforting stats.. but the motorcycle statistic doesn't take into account that only about 25% of the US population actually ride motorcycles, so the real risk percentage would need to be fatalities out of people that actually ride versus the total pop.

Yes, I get that. Also the 1 in 218 is artificial as well since they didn't include Geek.
