Marc,

Thanks for coming by!

Marc's highly trained airhead eyes spotted a few things it might have taken me a while to notice - a couple of missing nuts and bolts and an oil cooler line rubbing against a piece of fairing.

Gave it a good wash, need to find something good for cleaning aluminum wheels - those snowflakes are anything but clean.

S100 and I can never get my wheels really clean.

It was great to see the bike, I hope we can ride them together some time.

And YES, I am always good at spotting the Air Head.

Marc

Blake that is a nice bmw. Glad you made it safely. We made it to the treasure coast florida with only one rotten motel experience. Had we left amarillo a little later I could have helped you somewhat.

Well... The snow that is due to fall across the west, including potentially in places like Monument Valley.... it's my fault.... Road trip forthcoming, I think we will be driving.

Oh, did I mention, I have a secret!

You aren't headed to Las Vegas to pick up a 9fiddy by any chance?

took three different routes
  • rental car coming back the other night: I-40 west to 39, north from Logan to Springer, I-25 home.
  • hauling trailer to Amarillo: down to Raton, over to Clayton, Dalhart, Dumas, Amarillo.
  • home today: 287 to Limon, Franktown, home

ok...now what to do with my 2nd week of vacation
Nice scoot Blake. I'd say keep me in mind when you sell it but I'm really looking for a monoshock chassis to put my current motor into. I don't spot a rear disk brake on yours. Want one? I really want a drum.

it has a rear Brembo disk, the fronts are the pre-Brembo ATE disks - all are pretty weak and took a little getting used to.

Went for a ride today!

It was a short ride, forgot to get the mail yesterday so out the lane, down the county road in the mud to the mailbox and back! Still a little chilly and slick in spots!

But the bike is ready, new Kenda rear, new shock, valves adjusted, new rear rack for the nice Wolfman duffel my wife got me. Oil changed, everthing oiled and greased, new wheel bearings. New GPS holder and GPS and I figured out how to load those track things some of you use!
Just got to get this stuff to melt a little more.

Oh my god...Oh my god..I think I just "had one". looking at the bike's progress..this is not an ordinary 950 that had seen the s-miles as mine. I'll even bet I can take a hand off the bar to wave and not have it go into a shake like a wet bulldog, cuz my rim's are bent like an Iguana taco that will mess with one's digestion.

I was hoping to ride my old bike to work today, but no-go. Weak battery, and looking at things this bike will be such an upgrade. It's not a "MAN BIKE"- it's housetrained and won't mark it's territory with puddles of used fluid.

After washing the bike, and then noticing upon a quick look, the rear brake disk has been worn too thin, pad's are close to scraping. A few other issues that should be looked at and repaired.

But looking back, man I sure have fun on these bikes. A person of enthusiasm can push the crotch rocket's in the canyon's, then hit a trail to actually be in the view that one admires from the slab, while hanging with the trailer'd dirt bike's.

This is a bike that Colorado was meant to explore with. Then gas up, attach the panniers, and head to Alaska. Still winter there, so camping at a beach in Baja. Then the trip home coming over Raton pass wearing everything-even using the tent as an extra windbreak cuz it's snowing hard. The bike won't even miss a beat, but rather ask what's our next adventure?

I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful and AWESOME girl!

Tha Rick, I can't tell if you're talking about the 950 or GrizGirl.
