Get Karen Elizibeth Gordons books. Then turn the kids on to them. If you can find a copy of Christmas in the Quarters it's a good one too.

A hilarious way to learn (or brush up... ahem... a few FFs should read it ) on the cornerstone of written language: punctuation.

Our language is so screwed. Portuguese may be harder or Farsi.

Hurrah for Norm the English teacher . Our boys went through the Steamboat school system and I once asked one of their english teachers why she didn't grade off for spelling. Her response was she didn't want to hinder their creativity. Our oldest got his BA in English at CSU and he still can't spell .

I used to spell pretty good until I started to grade middle school papers. Strait, straight, st8. I saw all three this morning on papers!

I hope you aren't teaching grammar?

I got a birthday card from Cheryl's Mom (who in her 70s) and it cracked me up when she had written a joke inside and then put "LOL!".

...the times, they are a changin'...

Possibly could not spell either and did not want to be hypocritical.

Guess kid's aren't spending enough time in the 'libary'.

My biggest online grammar faux pas is my complete overuse of ellipsis suspension points... But I just love those dot-dot-dot's!

I am more of a redneck kinda "good" guy instead of the "well" guy! Ok I admit my misuse of the action and linking verbs BUT on the state of Colorado TCAP your ... will cost you more! I would much rather being teaching more geology and less on the grammar! Heck I prefer biology to grammar! But I did learn something on acronyms, KTM means keeps taking money.
