'72 Eldorado with 20,400 miles

mechanically seems pretty sound, it's all there and straight - a good candidate to ride for a while as you assemble some parts, then restore it.

I have wanted an old Eldo or Ambo for a long time, this will be a fun project for Marc.

She doesn't appear to need much. I've got a '73 Eldo in white w/ 18k miles that was my dad's first bike. You've traded enough bikes you probably already have a heck of a rolodex but here's a couple of the more useful vendors I've found.

http://www.cyclegarden.com/index.php
http://www.harpermoto.com/

CycleGarden's not cheap but they've got parts I was unable to find anywhere else. They can also silk screen the script "El Dorado" onto the battery covers and "850" onto the tool box covers if you need them. I wasn't able to find them as decals.
Dad had this one set up for touring with Wixom Bros fairing, bags, and box. I'll keep the bags on but the rest is coming off and going to swap in the police style handlebars.

ETA: If yours hasn't been done already, think about coating the interior of the gas tank - they're prone to rusting pretty bad. Oh and replace the petcocks if they're stock, the original leak like a sieve when closed.

Congrats Marc!

Is that the same year as the one Darmahman had?

Even with the low miles on those chromed bores, it won't surprise me if the first thing Marc orders is a set of Gilardoni cylinders.

Dell'Ortos look good, and how cool is it to see a distributor on a bike

the switchgear on the left reads "Aprilia" ...35 yrs before the Piaggio Group acquisition of Guzzi and Aprilia

Well crap, Blake beat me to it.

I did a few things to it today and it needs a few more, but actually other than the patina (which I kind of like) this looks to be a cheap one to get Lomax ready. It came with the original banana seat (torn of course) Really cool old style saddle bags with really hefty chrome mounts, and bent handle bars.

All in all the perfect Guzzi.

And the BEST part of all.

All of the electrical works (now), no oil leaks, it does need a good clean up and a full service. I am the third owner. It had a Staub side car on it most of its life and the kid I bought it off of had already sold that. That would have made a cool rig.

Marc

The TR is down at Grand Prix getting an ECU reflash to fix an off-idle fueling stumble - so I'm bikeless for a day or two.

I did my trip up Wondervu and down Golden Gate without the bike....and I have to say, I had as much fun as I've had on four wheels

And one for you too Blake:

I'd really like to head back to CO but if you guys keep buying bikes, it may be June before the weather improves.

Happy Easter, Ostara, Spring, Northward Equinox, or Secular Sunday!

I hope everyone got their fecundity wishes meet, real or symbolic. :-)

Spring has sprung, baby.
