Glad we've been keepin' that singletrack single.
Looks like a beetle kill problem. Good place to scatter some blackberry seeds.

If you have to call something a "fact" it most likely isn't. Real facts speak for themselves. Rec. users are nothing. The city of LA has made entire lakes vanish and severely damaged others. Hydroelectric projects driven by the demand for air conditioning has made enormous canyons vanish behind dams. Mining and timber companies have stripped untold acres of forest so people can have steel cars and wooden decks.

The land doesn't care. It is ancient...and patient. When people bitch about the "environment" what they really mean is that pretty places aren't staying pretty. Such a shame. Plant a garden. The vast majority of customers for goods from outfits like Sierra Designs, L.L. Bean, Holubar (long lost), etc. never leave town. They're poseurs. Right up there with the SUV crowd. Notice the names on those things? They're marketed to appeal to the rugged outdoorsman fantasy so many enjoy. They never get off pavement. The backpacking crowd walks from one end of a trail to the other. They like "campsites" with flat spots for tents and a fire ring. How many have ever traveled cross country?

But don't pop any bubbles. They sit in front of the living room shrine and watch the fako reality shows with the psuedo rugged outdoorsman and image they are out there somewhere. They value those little fantasies highly and will act to defend them if threatened. They dream rather than do but they'll defend those dreams vigorously. It's all they have.

On all the better adventures I've gone on at some point (and often several "some points") I've asked myself, "what the hell am I doing here!". The fun is that it isn't always fun. Things aren't always pretty. Sometimes you're dangerously cold, tired, hurt, or eaten alive by bug or vine. It's all kinds of real.

Toss a brick through your television then talk about the "environment". It takes about 6 months for the media effects to wear off, but then the world starts looking like a different place.

And be a natural child of the planet; eat lots of blackberries and deposit the seeds in a steaming pile of fertilizer wherever you go.

Comprehension fail again. Apologies.

The trees in the background don't look too healthy.

Fires in beetle kill areas are pretty nasty. I have some beetle kill firewood (from a tree I cut in boulder). The outside of the bark is crusted with resin. The stuff goes up like a gas soaked rag, lots of black smoke and very hot.

Sorry about the snow folks.

Well, it should have just been flurries.

Cause all I did was find the shorted wire on my 950 that has been giving me headlight headaches.

And now it is time to ride.

I would like to ask for prayers from the religious folks as I'm surely going to hell after what I did today.

I heard that on the news and wondered how much snow was on the ground. 27 degrees and snow on the ground in Golden this morning.

Does anyone have experiences, good or bad, with Omeara Ford?

I hate dealerships but often they have the vehicle I am looking for in OK condition (crazy, I know).
