It's awesome on a bike. Make sure to stop at the various bakeries and pie-places.

Fabulous.

Here is me, my sporty and the wifes bike on top trail ridge a few summers ago.

We have also ridden to Albuquerque, steamboat and LasVegas. The vegas trip was 910 miles in a day, 2 days there 910 back in a day. She is a trooper. The bike is sweet, I will own another harley some day but am ready for something else for now. Maybe a buell.
I've also owned a dyna super, but prefer the sporty for everything, aside LONG days. The dyna had a full windshield on it.

Here is a pic from a recent canyon cruise (wife was on her bike for this one, 9months pregnant)

It very well may be...

but Glacier's Road to the Sun is CLOSED!!!!

We came in through West Glacier, and could only go as far as the Lake McDonald Lodge. Of course...all the cool stuff is over on the Eastern side, by St. Mary.

didn't have the time to go all the way around.

Got lucky on that one.

I was born and raised in the PNW: Morton/Randle/Tacoma/Kitsap County area, still got lots of family up there.

Thanks again.
Take care,
FF

Riceman, thanks! I've always been into motorcycles, and have had some metric bikes and one BMW over the years (I wish I still had them all - heavy sigh...), but there's something about Harley's FL models, particularly the Road King, that really, really works for me. My first H-D was a '76 Electra-Glide (Liberty Edition model), and although somewhat similar in appearance to the Road King, it was SUCH a crude motorcycle. With the RK I get the classic style and looks I love, and also a modern, capable, dependable motorcycle at the same time. I love it!

It rolled over 56,000 miles (90,000 km) yesterday during a ride through parts of northwest North Carolina and and southwest Virginia, and up until the time the guy on the V-Strom blew a corner and side-swiped it on Squirrel Spur Road (true story...), still looked brand new.

Here's another look at the RK, taken a few weeks ago in Meadows of Dan, Virginia. That's Sammy Shelor from the Lonesome River Band, enjoying the Road King thing:

Thanks again Riceman.
