Suited up and headed down Hwy 9 today.

::: picture is the link as usual :::

Got a fuel top off at Perryville then a right on 324. Got sprinkled on from Thornberg to Lake Sylvia. I thought I was going to melt..... Even though it was not hot, the humidity was so bad that I was sweating like crazy.....

Stopped to help a young couple get a turtle off the road. they were being very tenative and the turtle was just pissed. We got'er done and I went to the lake.
Found a road open on the back side of the far camp ground and started up. Met the Forrest Service guy coming down. spent about 30 minutes chatting him up and making friends. Nice guy and I learned a lot about what is going on down there.

Since I know he would be following me, I did not go up the hill to "North Fork Pinnacle". Will save that for another day with less traffic and hunters and guberment folks prowling about.

Sure nuff he & I played tag clear across to Hwy 7 for the few hours I was lost in the woods.

Ran into hunters, 4 trucks pulling campers into the woods, a lady with a load of stuff that was a cousin to the family that I took pictures of with the .50 cal black powder with scope riding their 4 wheeler.

Another group of kids on three 4 wheelers gave me directions to a dead end at that lake in the pictures. ::: sheesh ::: Got out eventually. Fuel at Ola, 10 / 7 junction and them back to PJ Mountain.

Question. My Garmin 60CSx changes all the dirt roads I have made tracks of to a dashed line. : bluduh
Very hard to see and the map on the unit does not look like the paper maps I make.
I have deleted all tracks & routes and all but 2-3 way points. Anyone know how I can get the display to show the roads again???

Do you have your topo map selected instead of the road map?

By the way, I like this picture. It has lots of character.

Nice ride there Gus,
Two questions...
Second to last pic looked like a pond with a stream feeding into or out of it?
If it was feeding out, there must be one large spring there.

Second that V Twin DOHC cruiser. What is it? It didn't really look like a V-Rod.
Just curious.

That small water was the out flow from the dam, I was on the dam in the middle when I took the picture.

I think the bike is a Royal Star??? It has been changed a bit I think... Had a big radiator....

Gus,

Navigate to: C:/Garmin

Look inside. You should see listings of your maps. The routing one should be named something like CNNANT2XXX City Navigator North America NT with the year behind it. If you have Topo Arkansas and or Topo USA 2008 they ill be listed there as well. Let me know they are there. There is a how to video on Garmin.com once you determine if you still have your maps on the hard drive.

Also, open Mapsource. Go to: Utilities/Manage Map Products/ There should be a listing of the maps you have installed to Mapsource. Once you figure out what you have you can use the "Map Tool" found in the tool bar.

You will see a list of the map products that are in Mapsource like this

If the maps are there you can send them to the Unit by connecting it with the usb cable. But first zoom out to where you can see the US Map.

Once zoomed out select the "Map Tool"

Zoom out

Use the Map Tool to select the states you want by clicking on them

Select "Send to Device" Make sure the box next to Maps is ticked.

Then send them to the device and follow the prompts. Your maps should be back on the device (you will probably find that you will have to import them into the unit once they are there).

Got my Garmin 60CSx working again.

I like the size of the screen on the 760 (I think that is what it is ) but it is not really a 'out in the dust & rain' kind of unit.....

I could use a zip-lock bag but ...... For street riding it might just be the ticket on my Spot chopper.

I need to go out and sew my extra padding to my sweet cheeks.... And see if my extra gas is leaking out.

And pick up & repair all the stuff the wind messed up.

Or I can rest here in front of the computer some more...

Gus,
I rode to Menfee today and the wind was horrible on the XT350.
Was tough staying in a straight line.

I don't need no stinkin directions...

I just needs lots of gas and lots of time.

I remember back before we even cared where we were.

But I like your coat.

I like to play with gadgets and I hate to have something that does not work. Yeah, I'm anal. What's your point?
