I might bring the wife and baby, might just come solo, or drag another ADV'er, although not many of my riding pals are small enough for a 152.

That is gonna be a fun trip, I can't wait. Will come when it is warm, and sunny.

Shake down cruise:

Welded & painted the kick stand.
Filled the tool pouch.
Headed out on a shake down put around the mountain.
400 yards from the house was the first water hazard.
1 mile later I had to adjust the rear brakes.
3 miles after that I had to stop and take my air-cleaning apparatus off. (took off the rag I have zip tied around the carb inlet.)
2 more miles and my phone rang. Neighbor was letting me know about a photo opp for the mountain top news paper. I was on the North brow playing in the mud ruts that I had my first crash in with Doc & Charlie. I high tailed off the East end of the mountain. There I had my second water hazard of the day.

(Bad wreck, went through the guard rail, serious injury, messed up truck but no gore in pictures.)

Going down the mountain I found that the front tire was flat. Rut Row !!!!

I sat way far on the back for the 6 miles to the house. No spoons, no new tube, may go to Conway and get tubes, need spares away, {need links to buy spoons that you all recommend}, wonder how Bill feels about tire changing? LOL

Readjusted back brake and will see if I have it figured out this time.

Spent an hour rebuilding my air assisted grease gun before any of this fun stuff happened. What a mess I made.... But I fixed it.......

Demon helped when I got back.

Going to do some riding tomorrow even if it is just to go get the tire fixed. I have a foot pump but can't find it. Would like to carry that along .....

My oil does not have the dreaded slippery stuff to mess up clutch plates.

Don't guess I'll be going to the White Rock Enduro
Races... Maybe next time.

RednBlack has been starting like a champ except when:
I forget the key switch.
I forget the kill switch.
I forget the fuel valve.

All of which happened more than once in less than an hour.... ::: sigh :::::

:::: Must remember to take brain along next time I ride. ::::

I'll fit just fine! Let me know if and when you go and if you need a passenger.

I miss flying, my Dad supported out family as a commercial pilot, instructor and selling new/used planes. We used to fly alot growing up, then he just dropped flying cold turkey when I was about 14 or so. He did get fired up a couple years ago and him and I went up with an instructor and he was going to get checked out and fly a little again, and possible buy a 152 to piddle in and let me get my license using it too, but we just never got around to going back, too damn busy! That and my Mom had a cow, he is 78 years old and she didnt think he needed to be flying again. He did pass the physical perfectly though.

I keep wanting to get my license, but just dont have the time and already have too many hobbies. I just dont have the focus to commit right now.

Hey Gus, didnt you say you worked at Spartan in Tulsa? I got straight out of High School and went to Spartan for a few months, but was too youg and stupid (now I'm just old and stupid) to buckle down and ended up dropping out after a few months. 18 years old and living on my own in Tulsa just didnt fare well. I did have LOTS of fun though, just didnt accomplish anything. Probably one of my biggest regrets of my life.

these spoons are a bit short for working in the garage, but handy have out on the trail.

Thats a pretty good price for the setup. I think the spoons I use at home are identical but they are 12".

I've been debating putting tires on the GS myself but figure I'll scratch the crap out of the mag wheels. I bought some rim pads the other day and may give it a whirl. I love doing the dirt bike tires but I also scratch the hell outta the wheels and dont give a hoot.

I plan to try and change my own rear GS tire, I dont care if I scratch the rims, but I dont buff my spark plug porcelain like you do either.

I was the victim of the 4 P's today.

Piss
Poor
Prior
Planning

Picture is the link to the rest of the pictures.

Just before I got to the house I saw this lady and asked to take her picture of her wonderful hair. She did not seem scared of me and said, "Yes."

Picture is a link to all the shots.

I seem to live in interesting times..... Bawahahahaha

Long story short, I put tool bag & rag in a bad place and it could touch the exhaust pipe.

Drum brakes suck rocks and now I have still to fix the leak in the front tire and add the fire repairs to the mix.... Oh well, weather is going to suck for a few days. Give me something to do.
