Changed my indicators, and are also changing oil in forks. I have to check wich springs I have
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Anyone know if it is possible/advisable to mount clip-ons direct to the top of the forks. Of course have to lower the front?

There are probably regular handlebars that would give you the height you're looking for without the expense of clip-ons, unless you just like the looks, etc. You'll probably need adapters to change from 1" to 3/4" bar though.
Something like this perhaps http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...Handlebar.aspx

W650 Dyno Run
Interesting event yesterday . . .
Just moved back to the Pacific Northwet and in between rainshowers I heard the local Honda/Yamaha/Ducati dealer was having a dyno day on the 16th. Free dyno runs. So I went. I figured my Dub would be around 40-43 hp or so. It runs well, but doesn't pull your arms out of their sockets . . . Maintenance manual states "50PS (49 bhp) @ 7000 rpm, 41 ft lbs torque at 5500 rpm." I've heard stories that suggest 50 hp is about the max you can get out of the motor, at least with most at-home mods. Figured that was at the crank, and that was before 13 years of riding, storage, sitting around. Well, here's the chart. (Sorry about the image, don't have a scanner at the moment so just took a picture). ![]() At the rear wheel, max hp 49.69, max torque 41.16. Scale on the chart is in MPH rather than rpm. The dyno operator was in 4th gear for the run if I recall correctly--the reason the run ended at "100 mph." The curves are fantastic--no big dips in either hp or torque--the latter is almost flat. And that's how the Dub rides around town--great torque away from stop lights, smooth power all the way through normal speeds. Mods: Air injection blocked, pilot air screws adjusted. PO may have taken the baffles out--I've not looked at a true stock W650 yet to see if mine's different. No other engine mods--air box stock, jets stock (unless the PO changed them), no shims--they wouldn't do much anyway. I'm really quite pleased--either the official readings are at the rear wheel and the bike still makes them, or the few tweaks to mine have made a difference. Either way, an interesting reference point. |

Thats a very good reading - I'd be well pleased with anything over 40 bhp
![]() Did you get a "fuel:air" ratio printout too - just for interest as it must be pretty good ? |

ORexpat,
Good numbers for a W650, stock or otherwise. I'm happy with my W's performance which is almost stock like yours with three turns out and the baffles removed from the mufflers. I've got one of the whiz bang Harmonizers coming which allows fine tuning and balancing. Maybe the three turns out can be improved on. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=701625

I guess I only have to shim up the mounting points, as I measured the original is 7/8 at the controls.
