Touring on Naked Bikes

2000 mile, 5 day trip. Bike was more than fine with the stock windscreen, nice clean air. Or rather, nice clean wet air, we caught a bunch of rain. The Ventura luggage worked out well too (it's expanded in that picture to the evening's supply of beer). I had heated gear with me, but would have appreciated heated grips as well. Other than that, it was no less comfortable than my Sprint ST, and frankly more comfortable under 80 than the Sprint.

We were there 2 days later, blew right by your sign but stopped on the ID side to get the other one.


My wife likes her Ventura setup as well on her Street Triple.

I have tried to ride without a shield but find it too uncomfortable over 60mph. So I yielded gracefully and did a couple of Iron Butts with the shield and a few long trips. I keep it on all the time and still consider the Bonneville to be a "naked."

Just did our father/brother's 4th annual summer trip. Again, on the Speed. Very little to not like about touring naked





Even in the rain & dirt roads it's not bad if you've got good gear on.

Even water crossings. This was half way through an 18 mile forestry road that I thought was paved.

What kind of cases are those and how do you have them mounted? I am planning a similar trip on my SV1000n and could use some solid luggage.

Took a weekend trip to Morristown NJ to visit a college friend, this set up was great. And I agree completely, touring naked is a blast, plus you stay cooler in the hot temps. This shot is just as I was leaving my place...crappy cell phone picture though

Nice CB1000, it has always been one of my favorites. Too bad they only offered it for 2 years here.

Touring on a Naked is just a wonderful thing! I have no regrets at all, not with the 130 mile tank range, the excess face shield cleaning, the level of Plexus that I burn through...the leather jacket that looks like hell. It rattles and judders and shudders...and just plain sounds incredible.

I sold my GS off, bought the Monster.

No regrets.

Forgot to mention: it works equally well on SS1k runs.



Although the cold is a bit of a...challenge.



(26 degrees on that run! 1048 miles, 18 hours. :loll )
