Finally! Caught all the way up. What an awesome bike. Thanks for the blow by blow on the build up.
Was smiling at the Norton. Had problems with a '69 Fastback. Let's see. Twice the main jets fell in the bottom of the float bowl. Once the transmission spit some 2 gear teeth though the bottom of the case. Once the backbone tube broke all the way around and the down tubes were cracked but save me. Found this out when getting on the front brakes hard and notice the gooseneck separating from the gas tank. But, still loved the bike. LOL.
Have a great trip. Lookin forward to following your adventures.

Thanks for the Spot link, Doug. I wish you drank beer since you are in the beer motherland. I could almost taste the beer where you are. Oh well, I can still ADV ride vicariously with you. Right beside you bro! Carry on!

Doug, I'm sure you have met Harold at one of the smoke out, he's getting the BMW ready for the stampede.

Question Doug`s Garage ok?

I been following the thread for a while now and was wondering if Doug`s garage is still standing after all the storms that have hit ?

All ok ?

Keep us informed.

I just made it to the picture of the drop tank. I dont know if its been covered but i know what it is. Its a Navy F-86 drop tank.

This set is being restored right now:

I can only imagine what the original builders/designers would think about their disposable gas tanks being carefully restored.

I got a reply from Doug after he made it to Europe - so far his stuff is still intact at the home front.

Awesome!

I've been thinking about doing the same thing to my 79 CB 750f/ss, I like the looks of it, can't beat the utility of it, plus it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. Overall your bike looks like exactly what I was thinking, right down to the exhaust! The dual headlight looks right too, DAMN FINE JOB! Oh, BTW, I LOVE the sign! I know how you feel. Good luck, and stay safe, and vertical, while on the bike.

I think two of those would make a really cool trike setup. One wheel under each tank. A stealth fighter type fairing on the front wheel.

Flat black or ????
