Thanks and curses as now I have put SA as one place I hope/wish/dream to ride in my lifetime.

Let's see... lottery draws twice a week, so I have a chance.

My new word is "lekker".

Wow! Another fine MJ masterpiece!

My "peanut" has set in my lap and read along, she loves the animal pictures, especially the Meerkat and Giraffe!

She has been riding in front on my little step through scooter, after seeing Peanut on the back with you she is ready to try the back of the Big Bike!

I'll buy your book!

MJ, i just finished the RR and all I can say is , "Damn...You did good man (and woman)!" This is some of the best photojournalism I've EVER read. You and Tharina both have a gift for photography and your narratives are personal, as if you are speaking directly to the reader one on one, and always acutley insightful. It just does not get a lot better for adventure junkies. Does Thaina ever post her thoughts? I'll bet you guys were worn out but on top of the world when you loaded those bikes. It would be a shame not to put all these RR's in hard print someday. I'd sure buy it.
On a side note and not to hijack the acolades:
Today my brother and I did an afternoon ride up in the mountains near a place called Haw Creek Falls. It's pretty hilly and rocky there. We decided to take a little detour just to check out a side road which turned into a bad road and then a tree strewn, gully ridden, rock infested, mud hole of a used to be piece of crap road.(I'm holding back just a little here!) It would be tough on a 4x4 4-wheeler much less a couple of dirt bike noobs but we were too far up when it got really bad and the thought of going back down had waaaay too much pucker factor to even consider it. An hour and half and a mile later we made it to the forest road at the top just as the sun was setting.(Note to self: Start earlier in the day.) All I could think about how you and Tharina would have tackled it and be standing at the top wearing smirks on your face by the time we finally got there. See now that's the kind of inspiration that causes addictions! Aren't you ashamed? Oh and before you ask, we were to busy catching our hineys for pics!
Thanks again for educating and inspiring us.

Gear

I noticed in one of your trips you pointed out a black tail pack that carried nearly all of your gear. If possible, could you post a list of the contents? I would be very interested. Thanks!

And again, great report.

Thanks for the awesome RR

Your RR could become a movie or a best selling novel! Story and pictures were first class. I'm sharing the adventure with my granddaughter, Olivia, who is just a bit younger than Peanut. When her feet reach the pegs she will be ready to ride.

and an intrepid daughter.
Thank you for taking the time to take us along with.
