How are the drum brakes these days?

I'm still using the original cables and shoes. The "SF" actually stands for Super Fereno or Super Brake. They are Double Shoe Leading Shoe design and have over 4 times the pad area then disc. The 750SFC racer and early Jota 3c's used the same rim and brake.

From my experience they are better in the rain then disc and can you haul you down from 100+mph with one finger. I've almost thrown myself over the bars a few times with emergence braking from around 40mph. I imagine they might tend to fade in long distance races but I've never had that issue while passing 2 KZ1000's in one corner, another KZ in the next, then leaving them behind on winding roads - Don't ride like I did 20 years ago and would sooner cruise on her now.

Gotta say the Boranni rims with them big Brev Laverda drums really draw attention to day.

Rizoma aluminum belt covers with the windows - though we need to get new plastic in the windows one of these days.

She rode it out to Spearfish SD with me last year. It has 21000 miles and is still going strong! So easy to wrench on them...

Mine is also a filthy whore. Went on a really warm ride this morning, but rather enjoyed bombing around on the unmarked backroads of Virginia, dodging tractors, and flanked by corn and other edibles.

Wink

It is with much glee that I enter the ranks of Italian bike ownership. Brought home a very well-kept 2001 Falco this afternoon.

Here's to the start of a hopefully long and rewarding ownership experience.

Here's my Diavel.

All the superbike performance for the street with none of the drawbacks. And it makes me feel like the coolest MoFo alive. Love it!

Congrats gearheadstu!

She looks like a beauty! I think you're gonna enjoy it. If you haven't already, head over to af1 forum. You can get all the advice you need over there.
